Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake

I love a good pumpkin spice recipe, but I have been trying to keep my blood sugar balanced and wanted to create something with protein, good flavor, fat, and fiber. After lots of testing, I have a great recipe for you. Not too sweet and keeps me full for a few hours. I’m also trying to eat breakfast within one hour of waking, and I can’t always stomach eggs so this is the perfect answer to that.

If you try it, let me know in the comments or tag me on Instagram (@sarahkmartino)!

Ingredients:

2 Scoops Vanilla protein This is the one I use. It’s not gritty and the taste is smooth. I also love that it’s a mix of plant and whey protein and the whey is rBGH-free. Also has 25 grams of protein per serving.

1/4 cup canned pumpkin

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice

1 tsp flax seeds

1 Tablespoon chopped walnuts

1 cup ice

1 cup water

Directions:

1) Combine all ingredients in a blender. This is the blender I use and it’s amazing for daily smoothies.

2) I add the ingredients first, then fill that water to the water line. It’s about 1 cup.

3) Blend until completely smooth and serve in a tall glass! Top with a few extra walnuts for crunch.

Notes: For even more protein power, add a scoop of this collagen.
