Shaving Tips and DIYs For Summer

Shaving in the summer is a whole other ball game! We have to do it more and the razor burn can be a pain (literally) and hard to stay on top of once it starts getting inflamed! Here is my low tox shaving routine for summer! (Save this post to Pinterest by clicking any photo!)

1) Bleame crystal hair remover: I just discovered this and I LOVE it! It’s a crystal stone that you rub over any spot you want to removed hair and it exfoliates it off! I have tried it on my legs so far and it works like a charm! You can get them on Amazon here.

2) Dollar shave club: We use the cheapest Dollar Shave Club razor and change out the blades often. This is a huge tip…once your blade starts looking funky, chuck it for a new one. These razors work great and are affordable so it’s easy to throw out the blade once a week and not break the bank.

3) Cremo sensitive skin shave cream: This is my go to shave cream. It’s a men’s shave cream and works so well. The sensitive skin formula rates a 3 on EWG and will last you a LONG time! It’s very concentrated.

4) Exfoliate: Make sure to exfoliate before shaving! Exfoliate everything…legs, underarms. bikini line! This gets all the dead skin out of the way before you shave. If you need a good body scrub recipe, read this post. Or mix the spray posted below with a little sugar to exfoliate!

5) Bikini line Roller: Eventually, no matter how careful you are, you will need this! Make this roller and keep it in the fridge. You can roll it over your bikini line after shaving to sooth and prevents bumps.

10ml roller

20 drops lavender

1/4 tsp aloe vera gel

Top with jojoba oil

Store in the fridge. Roll over bikini line to sooth fresh shaved skin!

6) Body oil: This is my favorite body oil to use on my legs after shaving. I make it in a dropper bottle but would be good in a pump too! These oils are great for soothing your legs after shaving and also to moisturize.

7) Spray: If you prefer a spray to a roller for your after shave needs, make this spray and apply after shaving. Would be cooling to keep this in the fridge too!

If you want to grab any of the essential oils I mentioned in this post, you can read more about getting started with Young Living, the ONLY essential oils I use! Check that out here!
