Finding Strength in Shared Experiences

As women in our 40s and 50s, we often find ourselves in a unique stage of life where conversations about perimenopause symptoms become more common than we ever imagined. It's a time when our bodies are undergoing significant changes, and the rollercoaster of symptoms can leave us feeling bewildered and uncertain about what lies ahead. I don't claim to have all the answers or to have figured it all out, but what I do know is the value of having a community to share these experiences with.

One thing I've learned from talking to other women my age is that no two experiences are alike. Some women breeze through perimenopause with minimal symptoms, while others struggle with a myriad of issues that impact their daily lives. What I've also learned is that there is strength in numbers. By sharing our stories and listening to each other, we not only feel less alone but also gain valuable insights and coping strategies that can help us navigate this challenging time.

I recently joined a Facebook group for women going through perimenopause, and it's been incredible to see the sense of camaraderie and support that has developed within this community. It’s amazing the amount of women and the similarities they have every day.

I actually never felt any of these symptoms until the week of my 45th birthday and it hit me out of nowhere. The really hard part is just not feeling like yourself. I hope that if you feel this way too that you have someone to talk to or you join this group for support! I think at this point, it’s all I talk about to people my age!
