My Favorite Things For A Simple Summer

Summer is all about embracing the warmth, enjoying the outdoors, and keeping things easy and breezy. As someone who loves simple options on all fronts, I've curated a list of my absolute favorite summer essentials. These items not only keep me comfortable but don’t break the bank. I like to have some staples that I can wear everywhere and can mix and match. When I know I love something and it makes me feel good, I get all the colors! Here are my top picks for a simple summer:

Comfy Slides

First on my list are my go-to comfy slides. These slides are perfect for quick trips to the market, casual strolls in the park, or even lounging by the pool. They offer just the right support and come in various colors, making them a versatile addition to any summer wardrobe. I have them in three colors and wear them with everything, even casual dresses. When they get dirty, I toss them in the wash with some towels and let them air dry.

Athletic outfit I bought in ALL the colors

When you find the perfect summer outfit, you get it in every color, right? This lightweight, breathable outfit is my absolute favorite. I wear this to work out, but I also will just throw it on for a hot day with the slides above. The fabric keeps me cool, and the shorts are perfect without digging into my waist. IYKYK! I love that you can mix and match all the colors and bonus, it’s from Old Navy, so you can buy them all for the price of one Lululemon outfit! LOL! I get the top and shorts in a medium.

The BEST denim shorts

A good pair of denim shorts is a summer staple, and I've found the best ones! These shorts strike the perfect balance between comfort and style. They're not too short, not too long, and have just the right amount of stretch. I can pair them with a simple tank top or dress them up with a cute blouse. I’m 5’1, so I just tend to look for shorter shorts 3-3.5 inseam. I buy a medium so they are looser and hang a little lower. I have them in two colors and so does my 13 year old daughter!

The Versatile Skort

For those days when I can't decide between a skirt or shorts, the skort is my best friend. It looks like a skirt with the practicality of shorts. Perfect for picnics, bike rides, or even a casual day at the beach, the skort is a fun and functional addition to my summer wardrobe. I love that it has a wider waistband and I pair it with my Old Navy tops from above. I get a medium. I’m usually between a small and medium, however, I hate when things are tight so I usually size up!

Bathing Suit

I searched and searched for a new bathing suit this year and let me tell you, I returned A LOT of them! But, I finally found one I love from JCrew. The rouching on their suits is perfect and it has a nice coverage in the back, but not too much! If you’re looking for somehting new this year, check these out. I plan to be in this every day!

Here’s to a summer filled with sunshine, smiles, and simple style! My goal this year was to just buy some new staples and wear them over and over. In the past, I would buy sundresses and shoes that although they were cute, weren’t the most comfy and only got worn one time. In my efforts to simplify, this is what I will be wearing on repeat. Let me know if you try any of these items, I’d love to know what you think!
