Favorite Summer Staples
Are you ready for summer? We are super excited for relaxing, vacations, and the beach! One thing that comes with summer is a whole slew of products to consider for chemicals and safety! I know it can be overwhelming. From bug sprays, to sunscreens, and everything in between, it can be tricky to navigate what is safe to use.
Don’t worry, I have you covered today! Sharing with you some of my favorite summer staples with less chemicals and that actually work! Plus, some easy DIYs if you’re into making some things yourself! I also like to add that I’m of the school of just doing better….all of these products aren’t perfect on the chemical scale, but I actually need this stuff to work and I want to like it, so let’s just say these are low tox within reason! Remember, every little bit counts! And remember, you can always check your current products at EWG.org for their ingredient and safety content.
If you like to DIY, I have a whole recipe book here you can print out! It has recipes for bug off, a bug bite roller, razor burn spray, after sun spray, and a road trip roller! See all the oils you need to make these here! And here are extra supplies from Amazon I like to have on hand!

I am in love with electrolytes and have tested so many of them! I go to hot yoga daily and need more than water! These would be great for summer sports and camps for kids! Less sugar and not artificial dyes like gatorade…they taste way better too! I love all the flavors, but lately have been drinking Cherry Pomegranate the most!
If you love iced coffee, but don’t like the Starbuck’s price tag every day, try this one I have been loving. It’s called Javy and it’s a concentrate! I hate watered down iced coffee and this is so convenient and so yummy! Thinking of using it to make coffee ice cream too! You can get 20% off with code SARAH10111! Shop for that here!
Last up…our favorite beach umbrella! This isn’t a low tox fav, but I can’t post about summer without sharing this with you. We got tired of chasing umbrellas down the beach while our kids sat in the sand. Not only was it unsafe, but was very embarassing! Haha! Joe found this on Amazon a few years ago and we get dozens of people asking us about it every year! You can see how he sets it up here!
