Peppermint Mocha Recipe (Plus, gift ideas for the coffee lover!)

I love a peppermint mocha in that red cup this time of year, but have you seen the price tag??? Yikes! $7 for a coffee is A LOT! I will splurge once during the season, but I wanted to create my own at home. I also know what’s going in it when I do that too. Here is the recipe I tested and I’d have to say, it’s pretty close to the original! I have poured it over ice too and it’s just as yummy!

Peppermint Mocha Recipe

Coffee: I use Javvy Coffee concentrate in their Mocha flavor. I just add water to 1 tsp of the concentrate and warm it up or pour it over ice depending on my mood. You can also use any coffee or espresso you have on hand. You do want it to be strong though. You can get 20% off Javvy using my code SARAH20. Click here to see the options.

I then add sweetener to the coffee. I do 1 tsp of maple syrup, but use whatever you like. I think the syrup is a natural flavor and tastes nice with the mocha. I also add a drizzle of chocolate syrup and stir it in. You do what you like for this part. When I’m making a ‘treat’ I add a little extra chocolate! If I’m trying to keep it on the ‘healthier’ side, I just do the drizzle.

Peppermint oil is very strong. You can do one small drop or you can use a toothpick to swirl it. Remember, you can always add more, but can’t take it away so start small. Get Peppermint Vitality here.

Set this aside and make the topping.

Topping:

2 T heavy cream, half and half, or milk of your choice. The cream is the frothiest, but use what you like!

1 tsp maple syrup

1 drizzle vanilla (about 1tsp)

Optional: Whipped cream and chocolate syrup drizzle

Add all these ingredients into a glass and use a whisk to combine this until it’s frothy or doubles in size. You can use other types of milk, but heavy cream or oat milk tend to froth the best. Pour it over your hot or iced peppermint mocha coffee! Enjoy!

These supplies could make a very fun gift for a family member or teacher that loves coffee! Keep reading for links and ideas!
