Glow Moisturizer
I recently had a friend text me asking for a low tox face moisturizer! She said she wanted very few ingredients and wanted help with her dry skin! Of course, I had the perfect idea for her! She did say, “I’m more of a buy and use kind of girl” and don’t really want to make things! I totally get it, but told her I’d make her some to try! This is the most basic DIY and once you figure out your formula, you can make it within minutes, it’s so basic!
And let’s not forget that it’s a low tox option to many store bought items that can mess with our hormones and aggravate allergies and headaches! I also like to point out that I used to be a Sephora VIB member…basically I spent way too much money there trying all the new skin concoctions! I’ll tell you that this one moisturizer has been better for my skin than any of those pricier serums! So let’s break it down!
A few tips for your first glow moisturizer!
Use a small 15ml bottle and make it in small batches until you perfect your formula
Start with lavender, frankincense, and jojoba oil (This is a basic recipe that everyone loves!)
Then you can add in other oils to fit your skin type
You can also follow the guide below!
Recipe for 15ml starter glow moisturizer:
15ml dropper bottle (Reuse an oil bottle you have or grab this one from Amazon!)
10 drops each lavender & frankincense (These are both very gentle and moisturizing in just the right way!)
Top with carrier oil. I recommend starting with jojoba oil. This is the one I buy.
Note: Never use coconut oil on your face. It tends to clog pores.
Carrier oils for your face:
Jojoba oil (This is the one I always recommend starting with.)
Rosehip Seed oil (Great for moisture and aging skin.)
Marula oil (Very moisturizing! I use this in the winter with jojoba oil.)
Vitamin E (You can add a 1/4 tsp of this to any of your recipes above. (This helps with sun damage and has high antioxidants.)
Almond oil (This is great for dark circles und prevents moisture loss.)
